How to make Windows 7 faster ? Well its very easy to improve performance of Win7, just follow the instructions bellow:

1) Click on the win7 start icon, Click the rightmoousebutton on the item Computer. Select properties. Than go to advanced systemsettings, advanced, settings, visual effects. Click 1 time on adjust for best performances. Mark the items as illustrated and than ok.

2) Go to your windows Icon, type in the searchbar: %temp%. Delete all the files in the the temp map. Skip the files that you can not delete.

3) Go to your windows Icon, type in the searchbar: Run, type in Prefetch. Delete all the files in the the Prefetch map. Skip the files that you can not delete.

4) Click on the windows icon, type in the searchbar: Msconfig. This takes you to a page with a list of "startup items." Startup items are programs that are automatically loaded every time you turn on your computer. Some startup programs are absolutely necessary, others are simply a waste of RAM. Just disabble what you dont need. See the pictures.

5) Click on the windows icon, type in the searchbar: Msconfig. Go to boot and than change the time-out bar to 3 sec. And mark also No GUI boot. Now go to boot, Advanced options, now select so many processors as available. This will speedup the boottime. You wil not see the windowslogo on startup.

6) Disabble systemrestore: Click the rightmoousebutton on the item Computer. Select properties. Than go to advanced systemsettings, advanced, settings, system protection. Click 1 time on the local disk c: and click configure. Click Turn off system protection and than Apply. (As the pictures). This step gives you the biggest speedprofit.

7) Disable Windows 7 features: Go to your windows Icon and select configuration. Than to programs, and select Turn Windows features on or off. Disable all the thing what you dont need. Ok and restart.

8) Disable virtual memory. You dont need it if you have more 2gb of memory. Virtual memory uses your harddisk as memory, Ram is faster than harddisk. To dissable virtual memory:

A) Click the rightmoousebutton on the item Computer. Select properties. Than go to advanced systemsettings, advanced tab.
B) In the performance section click on settings
C) Again click on Advanced and go to; Change in the Virtual Memory
D) Click no paging file.
E) Restart your computer.
If you get any memory errors, let windows decide the virtual memory amount.

9) Download CCleaner on www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner. Install and use the cleaner and registry scanner. This cleans your pc. It is recommended to do this every week. Its a free program and also NO Spyware or Adware. You will notice that your harddisk makes less noise than before. Check with ctrl-alt-del in the taskmanager if you have enough ram. You can always buy more Ram, but if you follow these steps maybe, you dont need it at all. You will notice speedprofit, I am sure. I have build a new pc with the newest videocard and proc. But when I installed Windows 7, I noticed that the program is just to heavy. It really doesnt matter what kind of processor and videocard that you have. Its more the settings. If you have less Ram than 1 gb, I would recommend you to buy 2 gb.

10) If you dont have a virusscanner download Avast from www.Avast.com and run a startscan, maybe you will find spyware. Avast is free and doesnt overload your system. I have used it for years, never had any problems with it. Dont forget to uninstall your older virusscanner and to register your free Avast.

11) Readyboost: You can use Readyboost to use your Usb as RAM. To enable readyboost:

A) Left click on Computer.
B) Right click on the icon for your flash drive.
C) Left click on properties.
D) Left click on the Ready Boost Tab.
E) Enable ReadyBoost.

12) If you use the Google search-engine and Youtube. Use Chrome because Google is the owner of both companies and will always use the most suitible technology for their products. You can also install Firefox and Chrome, so you can use both and see how it reacts on different websites. Recently microsoft has a new browser, Internet explorer 9. You can download and install it from www.microsoft.com. This browser is also fast. Whatever you use, dont use IE 8. It is to slow compared with IE 9. If you use Mozilla Firefox, dont forget to update the browser. You can update it Firefox from the bar Help, and than click About Firefox. Click on update.

13) Buy a SSD Harddisk: It gives you a 60% (estimated) improvement in the time it takes for the system to get to the Windows desktop and a 50% improvement in the total boot time. There are no mechanical parts in the SSD harddisk, so it will make less noise.

14) If you wanna make clean windows 7 install, choose for Win 7 pro 64 bit. The 64 bit is really faster than the 32 bit version. Nowdays you dont have big driverproblems, because you can use 32 bite drivers if you cant find 64 drivers.

15) Check also the airflow in your pc. Clean the processorfan and chasefan. And the fan of your videocard. If your videocard has a passive cooling, be sure that you have a small opening in your case to get rid of the produced heat. I recommend a videocard with a coolerfan. Change the processor-cooler, if you use the stock-cooler of your processor. The stock-cooler does make alot of noise and doesnt cool the processor enough. Dont forget that heat is cause of noise. How hotter your pc gets, how harder your fans rotate and that means noise. To prevent this you can buy a cooler from Noctua, Scythe, Coolermaster etc. You must also make some changes in the bios.

16) Download and install Ramdisk from http://memory.dataram.com/products-and-services/software/ramdisk. Ramdisk can make a virtual disk in your ram. You can use the Ramdisk for Internet Explorer temporary files. Just install it and configure Ramdisk. I use 300 mb as disk. You will see that you get another disk. Than go to Internet Explorer and change the map where the tempory files are stored to your new created disk. Use this disk only for temp files, because it will flush everytime that you restart the pc.

17) Adjust your energysetting. Click Start, Go to Control Panel, and then select Power Options. And choose whatever you want.
